From Slithering Snakes to Soaring Eagles

In the intricate dance of life, unexpected encounters often carry profound meaning. Just days after feeling an Eastern Brown Snake slithering over my foot, I found myself gazing in awe at the majestic flight of a Wedgetail Eagle. These experiences resonated with me and my daily meditative ritual.

Every morning, as I settle into my meditation practice, I begin by acknowledging the spirits of nature that surround me. "Good morning, Grandmother Whale, Grandfather Snake, Mother Dingo, and Father Eagle. Thank you for reminding me that we are all connected and all are one." I say in my mind, allowing their presence to permeate my being. For me, they represent more than mere animals; they embody the interconnectedness of all life.

In my mind's eye, I visualise them at the cardinal points: the Whale in the East, symbolising Water and the dawn of a new day; the Snake in the South, representing Fire and transformation; the Dingo in the West, embodying Earth and the cycles of life; and the Eagle in the North, soaring high as the embodiment of Air and freedom.

The encounter with the Eastern Brown Snake, a creature often associated with transformation and healing, was a potent reminder of the delicate balance between fear and reverence.

Only days later, I was blessed with the sight of a Wedgetail Eagle on the side of the road, on a misty mountain morning. I watched as it took off, with its wings outstretched in a breathtaking display of strength and grace. At that moment, I felt a profound sense of alignment with the universe, as if the eagle's flight mirrored the soaring of my spirit.

The synchronicity of these encounters left me awestruck, prompting reflection on the interconnectedness of all beings. From the slithering serpent to the soaring eagle, each embodies a different facet of existence, yet all are bound together in the intricate web of life.

As I return to my daily meditation practice, I carry with me the memory of these encounters, allowing them to serve as a reminder of the inherent oneness of all things. In the whispers of the wind and the rustle of leaves, I hear the echoes of Grandmother Whale, Grandfather Snake, Mother Dingo, and Father Eagle, guiding me along the path of harmony and understanding.
